About Activity
Coinciding with World Mental Health Day, the Better Future initiative, in partnership with the Youth Without Borders for Development organization and funded by the Safariworld organization, launched the opening of a rehabilitation center for drug addicts. The war had led to the closure of the center for several years and caused various damages to the building.
Activity Results
The initiative has renovated the center and provided the basic necessities to reopen it, and the center is now capable of receiving cases of drug addicts.
The inauguration was attended by the Director of the Health Office, Dr. Rajeh Al-Maliki, representatives of the Mental Health Care Foundation, as well as the staff of the Psychiatric Hospital.
The inauguration of the center will be followed by a wide-ranging community event, where the severity of drug addiction and how to treat it will be explained. The event will bring together mosque imams and neighborhood elders, so that they can be involved in raising awareness about the danger of drugs.
