Addressing priority local issues for youth and women is a pivotal step toward improving community conditions and promoting sustainable development. To achieve this, civil society organizations and local initiatives require financial support to design and implement projects that respond to actual needs.

As part of the Sharakat project, the activity "Small Grants" was implemented to enable civil society organizations and local initiatives to address priorities identified during the needs assessment workshops. The activity focused on providing direct financial support to fund targeted projects, enhancing the capacity of beneficiaries to deliver impactful community interventions.

Grants were provided between August and December 2022 in three governorates: Taiz, Aden, and Hadramout. The grants benefited three civil society organizations, each receiving $20,000, and seven youth and women’s initiatives, each receiving $3,000. The projects were designed to implement activities aligned with UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 2250, emphasizing the empowerment of youth and women.
