About Activity
The design of the community dialogues activity came in response to an urgent need to enhance communication between the community and local authorities, especially given the weak participation of conflict-affected groups in decision-making. The activity aims to create a safe space that enables stakeholders to present challenges and identify reintegration priorities in a participatory manner.
During the period from 11/14 to 12/12/2024, five community dialogues were conducted in the districts of Salah, Al-Mudhaffar, and Mashra'a wa Hadnan. A total of 75 male and female participants from various community groups took part, including: the local authority, business leaders, returnees from frontlines and affected individuals, their families, health, psychological, and social support providers, mosque preachers, neighborhood leaders (Aqal), and organizations working on reintegration. The sessions discussed five main themes: challenges, psychosocial support, community participation, economic aspects, and academic and vocational education. At the end of each session, participants produced recommendations that were later adopted in the design of reintegration activities.
