The festival aims to urge all members of the community and officials at all levels to leave aside political and personal differences and work together for the benefit of Taiz and to normalize public life there, in order to alleviate the suffering of the people of Taiz from the aftermath of the war. This message was conveyed through an educational artistic operetta performed by a number of young stars and children under the supervision of the Culture Office in the governorate.
The festival was attended by social personalities, representatives of the local authority, and officials from various government agencies, including the security authorities and social figures. Both the Deputy Governor of Taiz and the Director of the Culture Office spoke about the importance of such activities and emphasized the need for collective work by all individuals, groups, and officials to normalize public life in Taiz Governorate. Professor Majed Al-Khalaidi, the president of the "Youth Without Borders for Development" organization, also gave a speech outlining the project's objectives, phases, and various activities, stressing that normalizing public life is the responsibility of everyone, and that everyone must play their assigned role for the public good.
The festival program included various segments and speeches. A charter of honor was distributed, and all attendees were invited to sign it, outlining the role each individual should play in contributing to the normalization of public life. After this festival, there will be an evaluation and follow-up process for the official authorities, assessing their commitment, interaction, and efforts to contribute to the normalization of public life. Based on the evaluation results, a conference will be held to review the performance of these authorities and to honor those who played a positive role and fulfilled their commitments as per the signed charter of honor. It is worth noting that the festival was preceded by several activities, including a research study on the challenges of normalizing public life and the formation of community committees in the three districts of Taiz City (Al-Qahira, Al-Mudhaffar, and Sala'a), followed by building the capacities of these committees in conflict resolution and providing them with financial and technical support to implement field activities in the target districts.
