About Activity
Within the framework of the work of Youth Without Borders to empower civil society and youth initiatives to make a real impact in support of comprehensive peace efforts; and to ensure better involvement of youth in decision-making at both the local and national levels, the Youth Without Borders organization, in partnership with the Youth Coalition for Peace and Security and the Civil Coalition for Peace, and with funding from the Embassy of the Netherlands in Yemen, organized the "First Training for Youth Initiatives and Civil Society Organizations" within the (Partnerships) program. The training was attended by 20 young men and women representing the participating local initiatives and organizations from the three governorates: (Aden, Hadramaut, Taiz).
Activity Results
The training sessions included background on UN Resolution 2550 and its complementary resolutions, as well as discussions on the roles and needs of youth in armed conflicts, and the priorities for their involvement in decision-making at the local and national levels. The training sessions lasted for three days, during which new visions were developed for the roles and needs of youth in conflicts, and the priority issues of youth participation at the local level were discussed, paving the way for evaluation workshops and the identification of issues with stakeholders in the target governorates. This will allow for the design of targeted interventions to be carried out by the partner organizations and initiatives in their respective governorates.
