Yemen Roadmap on Youth, Peace and Security
About Reference
The Yemen Roadmap on Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) was developed in response to Yemen’s prolonged conflict, which began escalating in 2014 and has led to state fragility, economic collapse, widespread displacement, and severe humanitarian needs. Youth—who constitute a significant portion of Yemen’s population—have been disproportionately affected by violence, unemployment, marginalization, and limited participation in decision-making processes
The roadmap aims to operationalize United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 2250 within the Yemeni context, promoting the meaningful inclusion of young women and men in peacebuilding, political transition, and development efforts. It emphasizes shifting the perception of youth from victims or security threats to key partners and agents of positive change
