About Activity
Local communities in Yemen face increasing challenges in addressing the needs of youth and women, particularly amidst difficult economic and social conditions. To enhance the responsiveness of civil society organizations to these challenges, it is essential to identify local priority issues through the engagement of diverse stakeholders.
As part of the Sharakat project, the activity "Local Needs Assessment Workshops" was conducted in three target governorates. The workshops aimed to identify priority issues for youth and women by engaging representatives of civil society organizations, local initiatives, and individuals from the target groups. The workshops included dialogue sessions, analytical activities, and structured surveys to collect the required data.
The workshops were held between July 24 and July 27, 2022, in three governorates: Taiz, Aden, and Hadramout. Sixty participants, including 35 men and 25 women, contributed to identifying priorities such as enhancing youth leadership opportunities, increasing women’s participation in decision-making, and developing mechanisms to protect activists.
