About Activity
The 'Youth Without Borders for Development' (YWBOD) organization, in partnership with the United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY), implemented a youth festival on the occasion of the second anniversary of the issuance of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security, which was issued in December 2015. The activity aims to introduce young people and youth initiatives to the pillars of the resolution and enhance their participation in building community peace.
Activity Results
More than 100 young men and women attended the festival, where they were introduced to Security Council Resolution 2250 and its five pillars, and were encouraged to participate in building peace in their local communities.
The festival program included various artistic performances. The organization's president delivered a speech expressing the purpose of this festival and the importance of Security Council Resolution 2250 and the relationship of youth and their participation in peace-building processes. He also encouraged all youth and youth initiatives to participate and contribute to the implementation of this resolution at the local level in order to enhance community security and peace.
Mr. Ayman Al-Makhlafi, the General Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Taiz Governorate, also delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of the role of civil society organizations in enhancing youth participation in peace-building, and commended the role of the 'Youth Without Borders' organization in implementing sports activities that contribute to normalizing public life in the governorate.
